Thank God I was able to get a great nights rest since I was totally zonked out. My body was sore all over, the bottoms on my feet ached, every muscle was aching. I could hardly talk right since I was beyond exhaustion.
Wednesday started off slowly which was a gift. Jillian is treating Joe and me as royally from England with waiting on us, fixing our chairs to rest, rolling our covers down on our bed. Joe seems surprise by all the attention but Jillian gets such a kick out of it. Someday I hope you will visit Atlanta so I can show her around like she is doing with us. It would be a pleasure. Jillian is so smart and funny. She loves to travel as much as we do. You should see here move around. she dashes so fast that she is speedy gonzales or supergirl.
Jillian picked out a cute local coffee and pastry shop which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Joe loved the coffee and us sharing a table outside. We drove around Hobart and the yacht basin. We stopped at Salamanca where I could pick up some gifts for my loved ones back home. I got a Tasmanian t-shirt with the quilt that Nancie Paucke will do for Joe and me. I also got some Australian socks, a snow globe of the tasmanian devil, a tasmanian alpacha yarn for Jennifer since she loves to yarn items.
Jillian had a nail appointment across form the fishing docks at 4PM so Joe and I had a nice stroll over to the docks. Mure's was recommended by Jillian so we knew it had to be good. Joe had some baked oysters and I had some shrimp (tapa size). As Joe continued to sit in the restaurant, I wanted to take some more photos of the harbour scenes.
We met Jillian at her car at the "car park" then headed up to the top of Mt. Wellington to view the city from the heavens. We first when through some small villages then there was just forest. Each clearing had a great view of the city but wait till you get to the top. You could tell when you were getting closer since the trees are more like bushes and there a large boulders and a lot less plant life. I was antsy waiting to get out of the car since I had to run around looking at this mass of beauty. Standing on top of the pinnacle, you can see the city from a 270 degree angle with all the water bays, inlets, rivers, ocean, bridges, city buildings, ponds, racetrack and mountains rolling on top of mountains toward the north. I get so excited when I see such beauty and land form. Besides the birds, the only animal I saw up there was a very long thick brown snake that was in the road. I climbed on top of the rocks to get a great picture of Hobart but knew that I would not go as far as the two young Italian Stallions did. The weather was warm up there. Jillian said that it was the first time that she ever went up there where it was warm.
On the way down we stopped by a waterfall to wash my hands but really to enjoy the sound of the falls. The rocks were a little but slippery.
We decided to head home for a few hours before dinner at 8:30 PM. I was able to start downloading some photos which takes so much time. We left the house at 8PM to head to the Battery Park. We were eating at De Angelo's which was very good. The place was busy on a Wednesday night so you know that it had to be good and it was!
We heading back home. We saw no kangaroos in the yard but did see roo poo. Puss the cat found a lizard and decided to bring it to us and let us see him play with the reptile. It was interesting to watch. I just hope the lizard doe not crawl into bed with me tonight.
It was a good day since I had more energy. It is now 3:30 AM here in Tassie and I need to get some rest for tomorrow.
Have a good one!
Such vivid descriptions I felt as if I along for the ride.
